Do you care about rankings?  As far as I know most website and blogsite owners care about rankings.  Rankings is where you get your stand especially if your blog or website is for a specific niche.   Others look at this as basis of statistics if their site is getting better or getting worst.  While others use rankings as basis for different opportunities.    On a different perspective people care about rankings in school, work, and other organization.

To elaborate more about rankings let us define first what is the meaning of ranking.  Ranking is a position in a list of the organization or it can be define as a list of items in a group or organization according to a system or rating or record of performance.  So meaning it is all about positions and standing in a list of a certain group or organization.

Ranking is important, though others find it inappropriate, it is the basis for big decisions.  Like in school, students are ranked according to their capability in learning.  Teachers then weigh all aspects to obtain unbiased result.  Rankings are also used to know if students were able catch up with the lessons or if they are eligible for the next level of learning.  At work, ranking is also important because it will be the basis of the company for the promotion of an employee.  They are ranked according to their performance.  On the side of websites and blogsites, for me ranking is really important.  It is the basis for the quality of work and on which part to give more emphasize.   Also, ranking is the basis for the approval and disapproval of blogs and other works.  Commonly advertisers looked at the standing or ranking of your blog or website before they approved certain works.

There are different rankings that are now being used in the world wide web.  The most common among them is the Google’s PR ranking.    Website and blogsite are being ranked by Google using different factors. There’s also the Alexa ranking which give ranking according to popularity, posts, and others.  And there’s a whole lot more of rankings sites.

Rankings should be looked at very carefully.  Numbers just doesn’t speaks alone because there are different factors and variables to consider and to understand.   Factors like the niche where you are ranked, the organization that gives ranking, the numbers of being ranked, and the authenticity of the rankings.    So when you see a ranking don’t just jump into conclusion, instead, study and understand the rankings.

So now, will you care about rankings or you’ll still ignore those numbers flushing?
